The New York Mets have a new skipper.
On November 23, the Mets introduced Terry Collins as the 20th manager in the team’s history. A member of the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame, Collins has a 444-434 overall record in Major League Baseball.
“I love this job,” said Collins. “I will do whatever it takes to bring success for the New York Mets and win more ballgames, and we want to be the last team standing next October.”
Collins has managed both the Houston Astros (1994-96) and the Anaheim Angels (1997-99). In 2009, he guided China to its first win in the World Baseball Classic.
He spent last season as New York’s minor league field coordinator.
