Vikings, Giants Moved to Motown

They’ve found a field.
After the inflated roof of the Metrodome collapsed in a snowstorm early December 12, preventing the Minnesota Vikings from hosting the New York Giants later in the day, the NFL announced the game will be played Monday, December 13 at Ford Field in Detroit. The contest gets underway at 7:20 p.m.
“There are still a lot of logistics up in the air, but we will do everything we can to make this a quality NFL game for the Vikings and Giants,” said Tom Lewand, president of the Detroit Lions.
The storm leading to the collapse buried Minneapolis in 17 inches of snow.
“This just came very fast. It was heavily loaded, and the wind was just unbelievable,” Steve Maki, director of facilities and engineering for the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, said.
