Sal Alosi is paying for his lack of control.
A strength coach for the New York Jets, Alosi has been suspended by the NFL team, without pay, for the remainder of the 2010 season. The punishment stems from the coach’s tripping of Miami’s Nolan Carroll during a game December 12.
In addition to the suspension, Alosi must pay a $25,000 fine.
“Sal feels terrible for what he did, and yet he took ownership, which I respect,” said Mike Tannenbaum, general manager of the Jets. “It’s something we take very seriously here. We’re extremely disappointed with what he did. There’s no place for it in this game – and he knows that. It’s our job to hold him accountable.”
While suspended, Alosi will have no access to New York’s practice facility.
