Pitcher Switches Agents

Zack Greinke has changed agents.
Will he soon be changing teams?
The winner of the 2009 American League Cy Young, Greinke is now represented by CAA Sports, home to Casey Close, who recently got Derek Jeter a new deal with the New York Yankees.
SFX Baseball represented the Kansas City ace in past negotiations.
“It’s no different than it was in 2008, before we signed him long-term,” said Dayton Moore, general manager for the Royals. “You’re evaluating opportunities. We were fortunate to be able to sign him long-term in the winter of 2009 based on where the market is and where it’s going.”
After going 16-12, with a 2.16 ERA, two seasons ago, Greinke finished 2010 10-14, with a 4.17 ERA.
“Changing agents has nothing to do with whether or not we trade a player or not,” Moore said. “He’s not negotiating anything. An agent has nothing to do with trading a player or not.”
