Job Description Seasonal Recreation Assistant

Title: Reports to: Assistant Recreation Director Pay Rate: $10.50 per hour Term: 20 weeks up to 40 hrs/wk, 32weeks up to 19.5hrs/wk
Job Expectations
� To assist with day to day administration work in the office. � To plan and implement Orchard Park Recreation Department’s Marketing strategy via email
blasts to increase enrollment, notify patrons of upcoming special events and remind patrons of
the start dates of programs. � To organize and implement the Special Events Art Rocks The Park, Ice Cream Social, Carib-
bean Night, Street Dance, Come Out and Play Day, Tails on Trails, Winter Fest, Holiday In The Park, Breakfast with Santa and the Halloween Parade and Party including pre event planning, day of implementation, and post event activities.
� To assist in OP Rec’s responsibilities for the Quakerman Triathlon � To oversee the Story Walk program which includes selecting books, mounting the pages, chang-
ing the books on schedule, and making any necessary changes and updates. � To maintain, update, regulate and monitor our Website, FaceBook and Twitter Pages in a
timely, efficient manner, to make sure everything on all accounts is appropriate, changing the pictures periodically, storing and filing parent release forms that allow us to take pictures and post them on our site.
� Maintain our Inventory Control System, signing equipment in and out, making sure all equip- ment returns in good working order, is clean and put away. If equipment is damaged or re- turned dirty to follow up and have that staff clean the equipment properly and or explain dam- ages.
� To create the Fall and Summer seasonal publications and assist with the winter and spring sea- sonal publications of the Rec Wrap.
� Act as the point person and mentor for the recreation commission youth representative. Includes getting monthly updates from the representative and relaying that information to the Recreation Commission, assisting in the planning and overseeing any programs put on by the youth repre- sentative, and helping them create new programs for that age group. Also searching for, inter- viewing, and hiring a youth representative when needed.
