POSITION: Game Presentation and Special Events Intern
DEPARTMENT: Game Presentation
SUPERVISOR: Director of Game Presentation/Game Presentation Coordinator
OBLIGATION: Attendance at all games and special events for the entire 2012-13 season
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Six
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Availability for game days and special events is a must. All interns must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course of study pertaining to Sport Management/Marketing, Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field, and be receiving credit for this internship.
Interns must be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced, live and stressful environment. Critical thinking and the ability to effectively follow direction are essential.
Other requirements include the ability to work independently and as part of a team, to work effectively under pressure and to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as they are presented. All interns are expected to be punctual and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
SUMMARY: Assist in the implementation and execution of all in-arena game presentation activities, including, but not limited to: promotions on and off the ice, anthems, pre and/or post-game ceremonies, intermission, entertainment, handouts, pavilion events and mascot duties for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits and special events, including Street Hockeyfest, Bowman Cup, etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with a team to execute all game-day elements of the Buffalo Sabres/Buffalo Bandits game presentation strategies and promotions.
Take part in pre-game preparation, in-game implementation and post-game duties, and effectively complete assigned tasks.
Participate in fan interaction with and without team mascots.
Assist other departments with game-day initiatives as assigned.
Promote a positive fan experience and atmosphere while working as part of a creative team.
