Nardin Needs Building Manager

The Building Manager is a position with a high degree of responsibility in the area of facilities management. The role of the Building Manager is to reasonably meet the needs of all Nardin Academy Athletic Center (NAAC) guests and customers. Specifically, the Building Manager is responsible for the general management and oversight of the 30,000 square foot facility, which includes 4 squash courts and an indoor artificial turf field. Additionally, the Building Manager is responsible for supervising and assisting other staff; cash handling/accounting; building security; emergency procedures; and assisting the Director of Athletics with marketing and scheduling the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Building Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the NAAC, including coordinating the opening and closing the building
  • To complete administrative duties and data entry with regard to the scheduling of the ¬†facilities and facility users
  • To contribute to the marketing of the facility
  • Assist in recording and managing all facilities and maintenance concerns/issues in the building by working with the Physical Plant Manager and the Director of Athletics
  • Ensuring that all areas are kept clean and tidy at all times, picking up litter and emptying of bins
  • To undertake basic minor maintenance to sporting equipment and minor repair. Monitors all areas of the facility for usage, participant behavior, and security
  • Manage and complete all necessary room set-ups for meetings and ¬†special events
  • Minor maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Set up and operate audio/visual equipment, sound systems, and video projectors as needed. Ensure that all meeting rooms are opened for scheduled events, and locked promptly after

Employee Management

  • Hire, train, and supervise staff members
  • Assist in troubleshooting and answering questions related to other staff members and their roles

Customer Relations

  • Provide quality customer service to all guests entering the building
  • Assisting members of the public with the completion of appropriate documentation
  • Meet one-on-one with event guests to ensure completion and satisfaction with the reservation process and facility satisfaction
  • Address any concerns regarding room set-ups, additional customer needs, or last-minute reservations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be highly motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Good organizational skills

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in facility operations
  • Experience in an athletic facility is preferred
  • Experience in/with Squash is desirable
  • College degree preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)

COMPENSATION

  • Commensurate with experience including a comprehensive benefit package
