Purpose of Position:
Under supervision, the Graduate Assistant for Women’s Soccer provides general or specific support for Daemen Athletics in the area of Women’s Soccer including recruiting, instruction, active coaching, supervision, game- tape management and upload and other administrative areas as deemed necessary.
Tasks/Duties Performed:
- Under supervision of the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, recruits student- athletes for the Women’s Soccer program, instructs methods and strategies and coaches student-athletes in the sport.
- Transports and supervises Women’s Soccer student-athletes while on the road for practice and/or competition.
- Coordinates and completes the Online upload of all Men’s and Women’s Soccer home games.
- Faculty and staff are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all confidential and proprietary information during and after their employment with the (including but not limited to: student personal information, student grades, employee personal information, etc.), both College. If a faculty or staff member has a question about the confidentiality of a particular matter, he/she should consult their
supervisor. Any violation of this rule shall subject the faculty /staff member to disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of employment. Please refer to your Employee Guide for the College’s complete statement on confidentiality.
- Operates the program under the rules and regulations of the College, the NCAA, and the ECC; understanding that an employee can be suspended for a period of time without pay or terminated if found to be involved in significant or repetitive violations of NCAA regulations;
- Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Athletics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1) Ability to work non-traditional business hours.
2) Ability to receive telephone calls, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone.
3) Knowledge and interest in sports.
4) Ability to carry 20 pounds of equipment and supplies to game sites.
5) Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.
6) Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid. Annual Blood Borne Pathogen education/training with Office of Human Resources.
Minimum Qualifications
1) Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
2) Admission into a post graduate program at Daemen College is required. 3) Knowledge of sports statistics and terminology, specifically soccer.
4) Demonstrated proficiency with PC
