Color Analyst

The Color Analyst is meant to complement the Play-By-Play Announcer and enhance the broadcast by providing regular interjections with specific details pertaining to the game, as well as other facts and insights about players and past experiences. Must have an in-depth understanding of the game and knowledge of players. Color Analyst and Play-By-Play Announcer will deliver a professional broadcast that includes pre-game, intermission and post-game analysis. Color Analyst will also be responsible for live scoring via Pointstreak.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-year broadcast experience
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of hockey, rules, and the OJHL
  • Strong communication skills along with a high degree of

    professionalism

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Able to work cohesively with the Play-By-Play announce
  • Past-playing experience is a preferred but not required
  • Game day/night attendance at home games (27+) is required
    The Buffalo Jr. Sabres have been a member of the 22 team Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) since 1998, playing a 54 game

schedule from early September to late February. Teams compete for the coveted Buckland Cup, as champion of the OJHL from the beginning of March to early May. This position is volunteer only and cannot be used towards college credit. A typical week will consist of 1 Sunday home game beginning at 3:30pm, roughly 4-5 hours of work in total.
