Assistant Athletic Development Specialist

IMPACT Sports Performance – Buffalo, NY
$45,000 a year
Position Description: As a member of the coaching staff, responsibilities include overall supervision of the strength and conditioning programs for all IMPACT athletes, injury prevention program design and development in collaboration with head coaches, supervision and scheduling of the weight room and physical therapy facilities, working in collaboration with physical therapists to deliver impeccable patient recovery and return to play protocols. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and conduct in-season and where appropriate any permissible non-traditional and post-season team and individual athlete strength and conditioning training program.
  • Design performance program for individual athletes and for specific team needs, and teach proper skills, skill development, and safety considerations for strength and conditioning.
  • Analyze individual and team performance needs for sport specific training and performance.
  • Provide on-site coverage and make referrals for appropriate acute medical care.
  • Ensure athlete safety and well being in all training sessions, conditioning activities, practice activities related to strength and conditioning program. Evaluate, treat and assist in the rehabilitation of injuries to athletes.
  • As appropriate, support the head coaches in counseling and advising student athletes about plans for setting goals, academic success, appropriate social conduct and other life skills topics, as well as other personal and sport related issues.
  • Attend and participate in appropriate national or regional professional development and continuing education clinics and/or conventions to improve and increase overall knowledge of athletic training and strength and conditioning techniques and practices.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings, unless excused by immediate supervisor.
  • Complete various assigned reports and submit to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Meet annually with immediate supervisor and/or the Director to review student athlete and administrative evaluations, and establish personal and professional goals and objectives for the following year.
  • Sell Impact Sports Performance services to western New York area and beyond

    Education and Work Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field – Masters degree preferred
  • 1-2 Years prior athletic training experience
  • Current certification from NATA Board of Certification
  • NSCA-CSCS certification preferred
  • CSCS/CES/PES or related certification preferred
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified
  • Must be eligible for New York State Licensure
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and


  • Demonstrated experience with instructional technology
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth

    and enhancement.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving

    environment and exhibit excellent multi-tasking skills.

  • Must exhibit proactive qualities, be self-directed, have experience

    providing instruction to athletes

  • Ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally to all levels of the
